How to Fall in Love…With Fitness

It’s February, and love is in the air. Of course, I’m extremely lucky to work with my wife and Sweat 60 co-owner, Courtney Atkinson. And as a former D1 athlete and the founder of Sweat 60, my mission has always been to inspire individuals to embrace functional fitness as an integral part of their lives, and find their own passion for it. Here’s how I encourage people to fall in love with fitness:

Creating a Supportive Community

For me, a big part of truly functional fitness is teamwork. We all know how important out family and friends are, so why not encourage that same dynamic at the gym? At our locations in Santa Monica and Culver City, we foster welcoming environments where everyone feels valued. Our team takes the time to know each member personally, celebrating their achievements and supporting them through challenges. This sense of belonging motivates individuals to stay committed to their fitness journeys.

Offering Personalized and Efficient Training

Understanding that busy professionals and parents need effective workouts that fit into their schedules, we offer personalized training programs tailored to individual goals and lifestyles. By focusing on efficient, targeted exercises, we help members see progress without feeling overwhelmed.

Emphasizing Every Part of Fitness

Functional fitness isn’t just lifting heavy weights and stretching for five minutes when you’re done. We prioritize training in all planes of motion to ensure our members become strong, resilient, and agile. This approach not only enhances physical capabilities but also improves daily life activities, making fitness practical and relevant.

Providing Nutritional Guidance

Complementing our training programs with sustainable nutrition plans, we educate members on healthy eating habits that support their fitness goals. This holistic approach ensures they have the energy and nutrients needed to perform and recover effectively.

Celebrating Progress and Milestones

We regularly acknowledge and celebrate our members’ progress, no matter how small. Recognizing these achievements boosts confidence and reinforces the positive association with fitness.

By integrating these strategies, we aim to make fitness an enjoyable and indispensable part of our members’ lives, helping them achieve their highest levels of sustainable fitness.
