Kevin’s passion for health and fitness derives from the success of his clients reaching their personal goals. This extends beyond physical fitness, to helping people reach their full potential and improving their quality of life.

Building a Community of Strength and Wellness

Sweat 60 is a testament to passion and a commitment to creating a community-focused fitness and strength gym. Established in 2018 in Santa Monica, California, Sweat 60 has evolved from a vision into a premier fitness destination. Building on the success of our first gym, we are excited to announce the opening of Sweat 60 Personal Training, our second location, designed to enhance and expand our community-driven approach.

Founded by Kevin Atkinson, a former Division I Soccer Player at Oregon State University, Sweat 60 is rooted in a lifelong dedication to fitness. With a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sport and Science, Kevin embarked on a journey to create a space where fitness thrives, supported by community and personalized training.

Family is integral to Sweat 60’s ethos. Co-owner Courtney Atkinson, Kevin’s wife, was not only a supportive partner but also the first trainer to join the team. Their shared dedication to wellness laid the groundwork for the gym’s expansion. Their family, including their two sons, Koda and Cru, continues to inspire their journey.

The concept for Sweat 60 emerged after exploring various fitness centers across Los Angeles. Kevin identified a gap for a fitness experience that combined the rigor of strength training with the camaraderie of a close-knit community. From its inception, Sweat 60 has thrived as a hub for individuals united by the goal of becoming their best selves. The focus on community support, driven by Kevin and Courtney’s passion, defines the gym’s identity.
